Midnight in Paris. Yes Please!

With great anticipation and barely containable excitement I finally got to witness Woody Allen's latest creative melange of all things I love best - Paris, old Jazz, Goyard Luggage, history, and intellectual musings. And I am happy to announce that it did not disappoint. I was pretty sure this movie would be right up my alley as soon as I saw the trailer with Carly Bruni strolling through the Musee Rodin to the tune of an old accordion, but one can never be quite certain. Trailers can be deceiving.

The Cast of Midnight in Paris at the Cannes Film Festival

This film is Woody doing what he does best; the only this missing is a personal appearance by the maestro himself. Although not the storyline I had originally expected, my eyes starred on widely scene after scene, my mind alert with anticipation for what was to unfold, and my heart melting with passion for the City of Lights. Could Owen Wilson really be speaking my thoughts and proclaiming my dreams? What an unexpected turn of events! Midnight in Paris is a must-see for any self-proclaimed Francophile yearning for a taste of his or her beloved France.

Bravo Woody! We'll always have Paris.
